Matt “Chaos” Nussbaum

In 2001, Matt graduated from the Air Force Academy with his final academic paper, “Preventative Defense and American Terrorism Threats”. Four months later, while in pilot training, the 9/11 attacks occurred, and the world changed. By 2003 he was flying over Iraq and Afghanistan. He later completed over 220 combat, electronic warfare or sensitive reconnaissance missions in the Middle East, Europe, North Africa, North America and the Pacific.
While serving on the Air Staff, Chaos created and managed multiple large defense programs and was awarded the Kelly Johnson Trophy for his accomplishments in the Pentagon and on the Hill.
As Commander of the 99th Reconnaissance Squadron his leadership model received acclaim from the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Commander of Air Combat Command, Defense Innovation Board and became a Harvard Business School case study on leadership, still taught today.
Matt worked in a Silicon Valley AI startup and at Lockheed Martin Space Special Programs before launching ATG.
